BIOPLASTICS COMPOUNDER

Biobased, biodegradable and compostable bioplastic granules

Located on the Atlantic coast of France, SeaBird has naturally focused its R&D work on the formulation and production of bioplastic pellets for maritime activities related to fishing, shellfish farming and coastal geotextiles. Our aim is to offer innovative solutions against plastic pollution in the environment by providing alternative biobased, biodegradable and compostable materials.

Formulation of innovative bioplastics materials

The development of formulations aims to improve and optimize several properties of raw bioplastics, such as their mechanical, thermal, or rheological properties. This allows to adapt to the specifications and the transformation processes of the polymers to be substituted. SeaBird’s compounds can be composed of different biobased, biodegradable, and compostable polymers, additives, and marine or plant co-products depending on the desired properties. These compounds can then be transformed into semi-finished products (monofilaments/multi-monofilaments, flexible films…) or directly into finished products.

Economie circulaire

A Founding commitment

Since its origin, SeaBird has been fighting plastic pollution by providing alternative biobased, biodegradable, and compostable materials.

Biodegradable bioplastics in the circular economy

SeaBird favors biobased materials for its biodegradable bioplastic formulations, and the valorization of co-products from plant or marine biomass brings an additional reduction in their ecological footprint. Our compounds are not only reusable and recyclable, they are also compostable, which reduces the amount of residual waste and creates value for the cultivation of new biomass. Thus, our compounds participate in the virtuous circle of the bioeconomy and sustainable development.

The bioplastic compounds developed by SeaBird do not contain any harmful additives or products and comply with the EN 13432 industrial composting standards
